Where's Daddy?

Alexis and I have been spending a lot of quality one on one time together lately. Dean left for a trip last Wednesday morning and won't be returning home until Tuesday morning sometime. He's been flying a lot in the past few weeks/months. We've been having a great time but I don't know how often we can do these weeks alone. We both miss daddy and can't wait until he comes home. Do you ever feel like you've run out of things to do around the house with your kids? I've been racking my brain trying to be a creative parent but sometimes on the weekend all I want to do is relax in front of the tv and not worry about anything. I know Alexis has more than enough toys to keep her busy and she is playing by herself more often. I do however feel bad when she asks me to read her favorite books for the umteenth time and I just don't feel like it. At least when Dean is home, we can split the reading/playing time. Needless to say, I think we're both ready for daddy to come home. I have to go now because I think Alexis is now trying to get into something that she shouldn't be getting into.

SRATCH ME!!!!!!

Ok, I don't know how many of you know this but I love to be rubbed/scratched. My arms, legs, back, head. You name it, I'm in. Anyway I think I've created a monster in my daughter. She is no different than I. Every night before we go to bed, we do the usual routine with washing faces, brushing teeth, a few books, and our prayers. Alexis has added a back scratch as well to her list of how to stay up longer. The other night out of a dead sleep I hear Alexis screaming like she had just lost a toe or a finger. I'm wondering what could be the matter. I run in to see what she's screaming about and she states, "Scratch my back mommy". I swear, she is going to turn out to be a pretty high maintenance kid. At least she still had all her fingers and toes.

Happy Birthday Alexis!!!! (a day late)

Wow 3 years old already. For the past few weeks, Alexis has been running around the house telling us her birthday is coming up soon and that she's going to be 3. Dean even taught her how to hold up three fingers. Needless to say, Alexis had a great birthday. Her cousin and our next door neighbor came over for a small little party. She of course received too many presents. She really enjoyed her doll house and of course her books. She still has to take about 30 books to bed with her and does look through every one before she goes to bed. She received some very cute outfits but of course she wasn't too interested in those. I on the other hand love it when she gets clothes because it's less that I have to go out and get. Anyway, here are a few pictures of the party.
